LHC calls govt to account for Qadeer restrictions

CNEWS LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC), called the federal government to account for the restrictions on Nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan regarding his meeting the relatives and receiving medical facilities, CNews News reported Tuesday. The court, during the hearing of a petition filed by the nuclear scientist, ordered that he should be immediately given the medical facilities. The LHC held that despite the agreement on security protocol, Dr Khan cannot be banned to meet his relatives; nor could his medical facilities be stopped. Dr Khan’s counsel Barrister Ali Zafar told that the federal government is not implementing the security agreement and his client is practically house arrested. The court summoned the government to appear before the court for explanation on February 19.
